Investment Manager, Taipei

The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) is looking for an Investment Manager to undertake investment case management, research, analysis and promotion. Working under the guidance of the Senior Investment Director within the Commercial Section of the Australian Office, this role will help facilitate outbound investment transitions in priority sectors including new energy, critical minerals, financial services and technology. The successful candidate should be a team player, have strong business acumen, a working knowledge of the Australian economy and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience working in an investment or trade facilitation role is an advantage.


Duties include

  • Undertake investment analysis and promotion to Taiwan investors, preparing insights covering the Australian investment environment, investment opportunities and market dynamics, and identifying investment ready companies in Taiwan.

  • Manage and grow a client portfolio, providing customised services to assist Taiwanese businesses that are investing into Australia

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing business matching activities such as industry related seminars and events, and market visits by Australian companies and government officials.

  • Assist Taiwanese investors to understand and engage with Australian and state government incentive programs

  • Efficiently manage a constantly changing workload covering diverse business opportunities and sectors and large numbers of clients/customers within tight timeframes.

  • Support the Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in representational activities

  • Actively apply Austrade business practices and maintain accuracy of information in all Austrade Business Systems to delivery accurate and timely reporting and effective relationship management.

Eligibility 

To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:

  • Work Authorisation - to be eligible for employment with Austrade in Taiwan, candidates must be legally authorised to live and work in Taiwan at the time of appointment.

  • Language - the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin.

  • Security Clearance - the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement in the role.

This is a locally-engaged position governed by Austrade’s Overseas Engaged Employees terms and conditions of employment and Taiwan labour law. Candidates must currently have the right to live and legally work in Taiwan. Austrade will not be able to provide any sponsorship letter nor be involved in the work visa application process.
