About the Position

The Engagement Manager - Eastern and Central China will contribute towards the marketing, recruitment and engagement in the designated regions in China under supervision of the Regional Manager - China.



Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Conduct student recruitment activities in country, including representation of QUT at various education recruitment fairs, and conversion activities through traditional and digital recruitment channels, as well as other recruitment activities in the region as directed by the Regional Manager.

  2. Advise prospective students, parents, and counsellors about study opportunities at QUT.

  3. Manage strong working relationships with QUT agents including conducting regular visits and training sessions.

  4. Coordinate recruitment activities in a timely manner, providing regular reports, market intelligence and feedback to Regional Manager and broader QUT International team.

  5. Foster and maintain relationships with existing institution partners to ensure articulation arrangements produce consistent and sustainable student enrolments and the articulation arrangements are well promoted.

  6. Use data to monitor and evaluate QUT’s recruitment strategies in China.

  7. Provide strategic advice to Regional Manager that identifies, evaluates and recommends appropriate activities to facilitate achievement of student recruitment targets.

  8. Utilise social media platforms and tools to ensure maximum exposure and profile of the University

  9. Work with QUT stakeholders to conduct predeparture seminars in country for students before they commence study at QUT, if required.

  10. Assist QUT in monitoring compliance by its education agents in the region with the ESOS Act, National Code and other relevant Australian Government legislation.

  11. Undertake extensive travel in China.

  12. Located in Shanghai, Jiangsu or Zhejiang, China on a virtual basis.


Desirable Candidates will meet following criteria: 

  1. Bachelor or above qualification, preferable with international education background. 

  2. Minimum 2 years of work experience in marketing or business development, preferable in international education or international recruitment sector. 

  3. Proficient written & verbal communication and presentation skills in both Chinese and English. 

  4. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office suite and using social media platforms for marketing and recruitment activities. 

  5. Ability to work 

  • independently and in a team 

  • from home with extensive travel to other cities for events 

  • flexible hours and under short notice.
