18th Australia China Alumni Awards Open For Nominations

Australia China Alumni Association is pleased to launch the 18th Australia China Alumni Awards 2026.

 

The Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievement in Australian tertiary education, honouring the contributions of Australian-educated alumni in China and Chinese-background alumni in Australia.

 

Awards Nomination Period

 

The 18th Australia China Alumni Awards 2026 nominations are now open and will close on 27 April 2026. Alumni are encouraged to nominate themselves or others who have made significant achievements in their work, life and/or service to the community. The Award Ceremony will be held in Sydney in September and in Beijing in October.

Applications for the ACAA Scholarship Program are now open.

Applications for the 2026 scholarships are now open. We welcome students from diverse backgrounds to apply and be part of this exciting opportunity.

The program aims to recognise outstanding talent and support future leaders within our community. We look forward to receiving your applications.

Event Highlights

​On 18 October 2025, the 2025 Australia China Alumni Awards Gala Dinner and Networking Event took place in Beijing, bringing together around 100 distinguished guests, partners, and alumni from education, business, culture, and public sectors. The evening celebrated outstanding alumni achievements and the lasting friendships that continue to connect the Australia–China community.

The Hon. Matt Thistlethwaite MP, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Assistant Minister for Immigration, presented the Alumni of the Year award to winner Mr Peter Chun, CEO of UniSuper.

H.E. Scott Dewar, the Australian Ambassador to China, delivered a message to the alumni community

Sydney, 18 September 2025 – The 17th 2025 Australia China Alumni Awards Ceremony and Scholarships Presentation Gala Dinner were held at the Harbourview Ballroom of Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, with nearly 300 distinguished guests from government, business, academia, and the arts in attendance. The evening brought together alumni and friends from across both countries to honour remarkable achievements and to celebrate the enduring role of alumni in fostering Australia–China engagement.

100th Anniversary Gala Dinner Celebrating the First Chinese Students to Australia

On March 5, 2025, a gala dinner commemorating the 100th anniversary of Australia-China education was held at the New South Wales Parliament House in Australia. This event brought together more than 80 industry leaders from government, business, and academia to collectively honor and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first Chinese students arriving in Australia. The event fully recognised the significant contributions of Chinese students to Australian society and education over the past century and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their efforts in contributing to the development of Australian society.
