The Role
This position works closely with the Austrade network across the Greater China region and will be responsible for conducting high quality research and analysis work to identify and qualify key industry players and potential investor contacts and provide insight and market trends in selected industry sectors.
Duties include
Proactively identify, analyse, and track potential corporate investors and key industry players in priority industries across Greater China. This will involve preparation of target lists of potential investors, analysis of their decision-making processes, and expansion drivers and development of tailored value propositions for individual companies.
Manage regional data-driven lead generation project to support Investment Managers’ targeted outreach to Tier 2, 3, and 4 cities across the region with a focus on private-owned enterprises in identified priority sectors.
Responsible in the development of company profiles, country-briefing, and other ad-hoc data/financial research to support investor outreach and wider consulate promotion.
Analyse inwards investment and export data to build investment case materials and undertake related research and analysis to identify market trends.
Assist with the development, administration, and record keeping for in-market investment attraction, promotional programs, investor engagement, and lead generation and opportunity conversion.
Produce and provide detailed research reports and pitching materials about the commercial and financial benefits of investing in Australia’s priority industries.
Capture market insights into trends in particular industries and report on these back to relevant teams in Greater China and Australia.
Identify appropriate sources of data (internal and external), information and reports that support research objectives.
Maintain relationship with onshore information centre and data teams to share information and coordinate access to data sets.
Contribute to knowledge creation within Austrade by adopting innovative practices, sharing knowledge, and embracing development opportunities.
Maintain Austrade standards and policies, including diversity in the workplace, ethical practice, occupational health and safety principles, and compliance with audit requirements.

Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:
Work Authorisation - to be eligible for employment with Austrade in Hong Kong, candidates must be legally authorised to live and work in Hong Kong at the time of appointment.
Language - the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in written and spoken English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Security Clearance - the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement in the role.
