Position overview
The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking a dedicated administrator to work with our Future Students International (FSI) team in China. The role will be based in Beijing and be fully dedicated to representing ANU.

The enthusiastic and talented person will apply their administrative skills to supporting the operational aspects of the team including planning and implementation of targeted marketing and student recruitment activities, communications and initiatives, and process improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in the broader FSI team and University stakeholders (e.g. Academic Colleges) and will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and projects.
Key duties
Assist in the planning and execution of marketing and student recruitment strategies including conducting market research
Contribute to the development and implementation of region and channel-focused recruitment and communication strategies and plans aligned with wider University recruitment objectives
Support outreach activity in China to achieve student recruitment targets and conversion rates.
Provide comprehensive support for operational aspects such as assisting in the planning, organising, administration and delivery of recruitment events, preparation of marketing and promotional materials, and editing and producing multimedia material for digital publications. This may occasionally require work outside of the ordinary span of hours and/or on weekends, and may involve domestic/international travel.
Assist in the development, implementation and update of the area’s web communications including website content, social media
Assist the supervisor and/ or manager in the implementation and roll-out of various local or University-wide marketing and outreach projects, providing timely and high- quality support.
Build networks within the campus marketing and student recruitment community, including proactive liaison fostering collaboration across Central, College and Offshore marketing and student recruitment services towards the University's strategic goals.
Develop a broad base of marketing and student recruitment skills, and actively participate in the continuous improvement of marketing practices, processes and quality service delivery.
Perform other duties as directed, consistent with the classification level of the position and in line with the principle of multi-skilling.
Experience
Essential:
Experience in administration or equivalent in a role related to education or international education
Sound administrative knowledge and an interest in marketing and international student recruitment in the higher education sector.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills. Proven experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to use initiative, investigate issues, collect and analyse data and to make evidence-based decisions.
Proven ability to work well within a team environment as well as to independently organise work priorities, multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Native-level Mandarin Chinese and advanced spoken and written English skills to be able to communicate effectively with international school stakeholders and ANU internal colleagues. Able to navigate cultural nuances of working in an Australian context.
High proficiency in the use of computer-based, office information systems, in particular, spreadsheets, databases, web applications and word processing.
A demonstrated high level of understanding of equal opportunity principles and a strong understanding of cross-cultural issues.
Desirable:
Knowledge and life experience with the Australian education system and institutions highly regarded. ANU graduates are encouraged to apply.
Availability
The position is open to Chinese nationals. The successful candidate will be recruited through ANU China Centre as an ANU local based staff. The candidate is expected to start this position full-time as soon as possible. The role will require possible domestic travel within mainland China.
Reporting line
The position will report directly to Regional Recruitment Manager (China) and ANU China Centre Office Manager for administration management.
