The CPA Australia Alumni of the Year

The CPA Australia Australian Alumni of the Year will recognize all-round excellence in work, life and community service. This peak award will celebrate the alumna/alumnus who has consistently demonstrated excellence in their professional career and/or through charitable activities. The winner of this award will have established themselves as a leader in their chosen professional/philanthropic field, and nominees will also have made significant contributions to society in Australia and China. Nominees in this category will share the values of integrity, innovation, passion and the importance of education. They will also ably demonstrate how their Australian education has helped them to excel in their field.

Australian Education International Young Australian Alumni of the Year

The Australian Education International (AEI) Young Australian Alumni of the Year Award will acknowledge not only the young alumnus/alumna's excellent achievements in their profession and life so far, but will also recognise their potential to rise further in the future. This award seeks to recognise outstanding talent, achievement and/or the contribution made by alumnus/alumna in their chosen field that demonstrates integrity, initiative and innovation. This award is open to alumni who are who are 35 years or under in the year of nomination, and open to alumni in all fields of employment, community service and voluntary work.

The ANZ Alumni Award for Banking and Finance

ANZ logo Australia China Alumni Awards This award will recognise alumni who have excelled in the areas of accounting, finance, investment, financial planning, banking and taxation. The nominees will all be senior in their field and will demonstrate an outstanding record of achievement over the course of their career. Nominees should be able to demonstrate how their Australian university education has contributed to their career success.

AusAID Scholarships Alumni Award

AusAID logo Australia China Alumni Association web Over the last 30 years, the Australian International Agency for Development (AusAID) has awarded Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) to over 700 Chinese Government officials, enabling them to undertake postgraduate study in Australia. These scholarships have given Chinese government officials the skills and knowledge to influence China’s development direction and outcomes. Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) Scholarships focus on potential Chinese leaders who can influence social and economic policy reform and development outcomes. The AusAID Scholarships Alumni Award for Development will recognize the recipient’s outstanding contributions to China’s development. Nominees must demonstrate how the work they have done has made a difference in China’s rapid development, and how their Australian education has contributed to their achievements.

Important note: Entry to this award will be restricted to recipients of ADS/ALA scholarships in any year since the programmes commenced.

Austrade Australian Alumni Award for Entrepreneurship

Austrade logo Australia China Alumni Association This award will be given to an alumnus who has demonstrated excellence in the field of entrepreneurship. The alumnus may be the owner, partner or investor of an innovative company, or may have simply implemented successful entrepreneurial programs in large company. The judging panel will assess the creativity, resourcefulness and sustainability of the awardee’s entrepreneurial activity in China. Although it is not necessary that the awardee has an Australia-China business focus, it is expected that nominees will generally have an international and inter-cultural approach to their entrepreneurial activity and will be able to demonstrate how their Australian university education has contributed to their entrepreneurial success in China.

Qantas Alumni Award for Research and Innovation

This award will recognise alumni that have contributed significantly to research and innovation in their chosen field. Entry is open to alumni from all fields of study and work (for example science, technology, medicine, academic research etc) and will be assessed on the degree to which they have advanced current knowledge, through significant research work in either a university or a corporate environment.

Australian Alumni Award for Culture and Arts

This broad award category seeks to recognise outstanding talent, originality and cultural flair. Nominees may come from the fields of fine arts, theatrical arts, dance, music, drama, literature, media, film, television and radio, editing, publishing, design and curatorship. This award is open to alumni of all ages who have made significant achievements in their chosen artistic endeavours. Nominees for this award may be invited to perform or exhibit at the awards ceremony, at the invitation of the ACAA.
