CPA Australia China Alumni of the Year Award

The CPA Australia Australian Alumni of the Year Award recognises all-round excellence in work, life and community service. This peak ward celebrates an alumna/alumnus who has consistently demonstrated excellence in their professional career and /or through charitable activities. The winner of this award will have established themselves as a leader in their chosen professional and/or philanthropic field, and nominees will also have made significant contributions to society in Australia and China. Nominees in this category will share the values of integrity, innovation, passion and the importance of education. They will also demonstrate how their Australian education has helped them to excel in their field.

2010 Lifetime Achievement Award

In 2010 the Australia China Alumni Association will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to recognise an outstanding and lifelong contribution toward building Australia-China relations.

Australian Education International Young Australia China Alumni of the Year Award

The Australian Education International (AEI) Young Australian Alumni of the Year Award will acknowledge not only the young alumnus/alumna's excellent achievements in their profession and life so far, but will also recognise outstanding talent, achievement, and/or the contribution made by alumnus/alumna in their chosen field that demonstrates integrity, initiative and innovation. This award is open to alumni who are 35 years or under in the year of nomination, and open to alumni in all fields of employment, community service and voluntary work.

ANZ Bank Australia China Alumni Award for Banking and Finance

This award recognises alumni who have excelled in the areas of accounting, finance, investment, financial planning, banking and taxation. The nominees will all be senior in their field and will demonstrate an outstanding record of achievement over the course of their career. Nominees should be able to demonstrate how their Australian university education has contributed to their career success.

AusAID Scholarships Australia China Alumni Award

The AusAID Scholarships Alumni Award is open to recipients of both Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) and Australian Leadership Awards (ALA). Over the last 30 years, the Australian International Agency for Development (AusAID) has awarded Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) to over 700 Chinese government officials, enabling them to undertake postgraduate study in Australia. These scholarships have given Chinese government officials the skills and knowledge to influence China's development direction and outcomes. Australian Leadership Award (ALA) scholarships focus on potential Chinese leaders who can influence social and economic policy reform and development outcomes. The AusAID Scholarships Alumni Award for Development recognises the recipient's outstanding contributions to China's development. Nominees must demonstrate how the work they have done has made a difference in China's rapid development, and how their Australian education has contributed to their achievements.

Austrade Australia China Alumni Award for Entrepreneurship

This award recognises an alumnus/alumna who has demonstrated excellence in the field of entrepreneurship. The alumnus/alumna may be the owner, partner or investor of an innovative company, or may have implemented successful entrepreneurial programs in a large company. The judging panel assesses the creativity, resourcefulness and sustainability of the awardee's entrepreneurial activity in China. Although it is not necessary that the awardee has an Australia-China business focus, it is expected that nominees will generally have an international and inter-cultural approach to their entrepreneurial activity and will be able to demonstrate how their Australian university education has contributed to their entrepreneurial success in China.

Business Events Sydney Australia China Alumni Award for Research and Innovation

This award recognises alumni who have contributed significantly to research and innovation in their chosen field. Entry is open to alumni from all fields of study and work (for example, the sciences, technology, medicine, academic research etc). Nominees will be assessed on the degree to which they have advanced current knowledge, through significant research work in either a university or a corporate environment.

Telstra Sensis Australia China Alumni Award for ICT and New Media

This award aims to recognize the achievements of alumni in the emerging ICT and New Media sector. The ICT and New Media industry shares wide associations to digital, computerized, or networked information and communication technologies. Nominees in this category shall have demonstrated evidence of achievements in advancing knowledge and practices in the sector or must have shown creative use of ICT and New Media technologies to further their work in the chosen field. Nominees can come from a range of background which can include areas relating to software design, interactive marketing practices, and performance art among others.

Mallesons Stephen Jaques Australia China Alumni Award for Corporate Achievement

This new award category is an exciting opportunity to recognise alumni who have made significant accomplishments within a corporate environment. The award will seek to recognise both established and emerging leaders, and is open to both senior corporate leaders and younger alumni that have demonstrated exceptional talent early in their careers. The achievements demonstrated can be achieved over the course of the individual’s career or be a single outstanding accomplishment that has advanced or contributed significantly to the performance of the nominee’s organization. Nominees may come from any industry or corporate job function, but will share demonstrated leadership ability, a flair for their chosen field, a commitment to mentoring junior talent, and a passion for corporate social responsibility.

Nominees will be judged not only on their performance in their key job function, but on their broader role in developing internal company culture, their contributions to the development of their industry overall and their commitment to corporate social responsibility.

IELTS Australia China Alumni Award for Women in Leadership

Newly introduced in 2010, this award is designed to celebrate and honor a woman who not only inspires but has proven herself a leader in her chosen field. The nominees will have made significant strides and accomplishments in their work life, either in the public or private sector. Opened to female alumni only, nominees may come from any sector, including business, government, non-profit and academia.

All nominees shall have demonstrated evidence of achievements in their chosen field, be of exemplary conduct and be consistently helping to build a stronger community through leadership. Nominees must also demonstrate how their Australian education have contributed to their career success.
